Listen to my interview by Noomii

For years I coached executives responsible for billions of dollars in revenue and tens of thousands of employees. I helped them lead major organizational transformations successfully. It was exciting to travel the world and work with people in so many cultures.

I am blessed that I have enjoyed most of my jobs. I didn’t have to watch the clock until 5 o’clock or pray for Friday to finally arrive. I am pained so many people really hate their jobs. I want to do something about it!

At many points in my journey I felt like an imposter, that I was attempting something that was beyond my abilities. I chose to ignore those negative voices, to focus on who I wanted to become, and to put my energies in that direction. I believe all of us get to decide for ourselves who we are and what we are to do in the world. I am here to help you accomplish that!

I am a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. This is the second highest level of certification, based on a team of coaching experts confirming that the coach attended an accredited coaching school and performed at least 750 hours of client coaching.

About Jim

Like many people I had a difficult childhood – there were years we never had all the utilities on at the same time, and my parents took the “spare the rod spoil the child” proverb a bit too far. I was setup to fail at an early age.

Somehow I knew my identity was not defined by my environment. I knew the way out was to remain persistently focused on my goals. Despite many obstacles I became valedictorian of my high school. I was the first member of my immediate family to graduate high school. I graduated with honors from Princeton, then went on to get two Master’s degrees and a Doctorate.

My first career was in Information Technology, first as a programmer, eventually as IT director. When I realized a calling to “relieve suffering in the workplace” I felt compelled to leave a comfortable job to pursue a much more difficult career in organizational development. It was scary to abandon everything I had known for an uncertain future. But courage isn’t the absence of fear -- it’s taking action despite the fear, so I jumped in!

I look forward to working with you.
